Dicken is a village in the municipality of Neckertal in the Toggenburg constituency of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland . Until 2008, most of Dicken belonged to the Mogelsberg community and some hamlets to the St. Peterzell community .
Dicken is near Degersheim at around 800 m above sea level. M. and has about 350 inhabitants. Dicken maintains an independent village life with a gymnastics club, a music society, a Guggenmusik and a tourist association. The Dickler School had to be closed in 2014 due to the lower number of children. The school house including the multi-purpose hall was taken over by the village corporation Dicken so that the premises are still available to the population.
Dicken was first mentioned in a document around 1459. In 1830 the hand-weaving mill was opened in the lower factory, and embroidery emerged around 1850.
From Dicken roads lead to St. Peterzell, Degersheim and Schwellbrunn . A post bus line connects Dicken with St. Peterzell and Degersheim.
