The house at Hauptstrasse No. 87 (also called “ Die Arche ”) is a listed building and is located in the city center of the district town of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district .

Architecture and history

The house at Hauptstrasse No. 87 is a two-story building with six axes and a pilaster structure . The house was built in the second half of the 19th century. In 1917, the mayor's office in Paffendorf acquired the building and set up the community treasury and the meeting room here. When English occupation troops billeted in Bergheim's town hall in 1918, the administration there moved to Hauptstrasse 87 and 97. Only in 1934 did the entire administration move back to the town hall. Since then, employees of the Bergheim administration have lived in house no. In 1959, the evangelical parish Bergheim-Zieverich-Elsdorf acquired the house and founded the Arche parish center and the youth home for their parish work.

Todays use

Today the property is still owned by the evangelical parish Bergheim-Zieverich-Elsdorf, which uses it as a community center and event center.
