The operetta was filmed in 1931 by Hans Steinhoff with Anny Ahlers and Victor de Kowa under the same title .

action

The painter Viktor Ronai is holding a party because he has won a large cash prize. When one of the guests harassed a beautiful young woman, Viktor intervened and stopped him. Now, however, this guest turns out to be the donor of the cash prize and now, offended, withdraws it. Viktor is undoubtedly a gentleman, which is rewarded with a passionate kiss from the beautiful unknown woman. This is worth almost more to the painter than the money that has now been lost, and he paints the beauty from memory that night. The next day everything else seems to be in order again, because the painter has received the money. Gradually, however, it transpires that the stranger herself paid the money.

As a result, there are a number of typical operetta misunderstandings - with a good ending for Viktor and the stranger, who turns out to be Princess Alexandra Maria.

Orchestration

The orchestration consists of two (piccolo) flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, four horns, two trumpets, three trombones, one timpani, percussion, harp, celesta and strings, the line-up of two women and four men as well the choir (SATB) .
