criticism
Ulrich P. Bruckner describes The Hunted of the Sierra Nevada as good, exciting and cynical Italo-Westerns. The lexicon of international film criticized this cynicism, but praised photography. J. Picas praised: "This is one of the more appealing cowboy films, lively and believable, [...] made with taste and imagination". The Protestant film observer complains that the film is morally too careless, but comes to the conclusion that it is reasonably constructed and has beautiful color images.
Remarks
The production, often also under Italian management, bears the Italian title 5,000 Dollari sull'asso . The German version contains a theme song sung by Ralf Paulsen and the song Kein Gold am Blue River , which Ronny interprets. In the international version you can hear Don Powell with A gambling man . Overall, the German version is considerably shorter and partly cut differently (book: Helmut Harun) than the international version.
The soundtrack was released on CAM.
