The youth series was created by Doreen Spicer-Dannelly, who previously appeared on Disney's Jump In! and The Prouds was in charge. She follows the lives of high school students who want to study stage arts and become pop stars. The five stars of the series are from the pop record label Savvy.

Serial production

Filming began on August 3, 2009 in Howell, Michigan on the Parker High School campus. 26 episodes were planned for the first season. The original location was Houston, Texas. The television series was produced by Savvy Productions, LLC and Stern-LeMaire Productions Inc., and Bradford Licensing LLC was the distributor .
