action
Dr. Dankmar Tollen is an electrical engineer by profession. Through a traumatic experience during the First World War, he came to the realization that it was not the bravery or commitment of soldiers that could decide the luck of the war, but only the more sophisticated war machinery that a country had at its disposal. For this reason, with the help of his assistant Karin, he set to work immediately after 1918 to use an invention to make any military device powered by electrical energy unusable in the event of an operation in order to prevent all wars in the future. Dankmar proudly presents his invention to his younger brother Gerd, a captain in the army, and his bride Jutta. Dankmar sets his enormous machine going, and instantly the city, which is brightly lit at night, lies in the deepest darkness. When he turns a condenser, the light suddenly comes on again.
Captain Gerd immediately recognizes how important his brother's invention could be for waging war, and is already wondering how helpful the device is for his army. Dankmar Tollen only has the preservation of world peace in mind. Dankmar has already given some thought to ensure that the device is only used in his own way. Only a certain society of friends of peace should be allowed to access the levers and buttons in an emergency. But Tollen's super weapon immediately made the agent world at home and abroad prick up its ears. One of them, the Asian Rahi Tao, has crept into this very society to get to know Dankmar Tollen better and to get more information. Brother Gerd uses a social get-together with his brother and wants to get the documents to himself so that the Asian darkling cannot get to the documents. Unfortunately, Rahi Tao has exactly the same idea at the exact same time.
When Dankmar wants to see that everything is going well, he sees his brother lying on the floor, dejected and unconscious, while the Asian spy has already left with the papers. Things are picking up speed. Rahi Tao is over and over again, and Gerd Tollen will be shot at by enemies via aircraft and warship the next time he is deployed. Dankmar learns from the head of the Kornerup intelligence service that his brother survived the attack, while Rani Tao crashed over the sea on his flight by plane. Dankmar Tollen must now recognize that a war prevention machine alone will not be enough to secure peace forever if the will of the peoples of the world does not mature at the same time.
