Entrepreneur

In the 1970s, Mosna began importing printing presses from the USA. In 1978, when he founded Diatec Cles SpA , he concentrated on the production of picture printing paper. From Cles in Trent , the company expanded through several takeovers in Italy and France and gradually established itself on the European markets. In 2003 Diatec took over the Swiss company Sihl AG , world market leader for digital printing papers. The company currently has around 1,100 employees.

For his entrepreneurial activity, Mosna was named a Knight of Labor ( Cavaliere del Lavoro in Italian ) by President Napolitano in 2010 . Previously, in 2004 he was a finalist for the Italian Entrepreneur of the Year prize awarded by Ernst & Young . In 2006 he was also appointed to the administrative board of the research institute Fondazione Bruno Kessler . In 2008 he was elected “Trentiner of the Year” and in 2009 he was awarded the Aquila di San Venceslao, the highest civilian award in the province of Trento .

In 2000, Mosna's company Diatec supported the founding of the volleyball club Trentino Volley as the main sponsor, which took over the first division license from the financially failed Porto Ravenna Volley club. Under Mosna's presidency, Trentino Volley developed into an annual title contender and top international club.

In 2004 Mosna was elected President of the Italian Volleyball League. Due to a difference of opinion about the league approval of the club Pallavolo Pineto , he resigned in September 2009, but took over the office again in June 2010.

politics

In 2013, Mosna applied for the office of governor of Trentino with a coalition of various liberal lists of citizens . In the event of the election success, he had announced that he would resign from his posts in the volleyball league. He could not agree on a collaboration with Forza Trentino , so there was no mutual center-right bloc.

In the state elections on October 27, 2013, he was clearly defeated by Ugo Rossi's center-left coalition with only 19.28% of the vote, as expected. However, he was elected Vice President of the Trentino Parliament .
