Career

society

Pozo began his professional career in 1995 at the then underclass club CD Godoy Cruz . After ten years he decided to leave the club and moved to Club Atlético Huracán . At the end of the 2005/06 season, the team made it to a relegation place in the second division. So you were entitled to play against the Argentinos Juniors for promotion to the Primera División . With a 1-1 draw in front of the home crowd and a 2-2 draw away, the promotion was missed, as the rules said that a first division team in the play-off games would be given preferential treatment after two draws. Pozo then left the club and signed with league rivals Talleres de Córdoba . Another season later he swapped Talleres jersey for that of city rivals Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba . For the 2008/09 season, the first division club Colón lured him to Santa Fe. It was the first premier league club that Pozo signed a contract with. He quickly made it into the club's top eleven and developed into a top performer. He made his debut in the top Argentinian league on the 11th match day of Torneo Apertura, on October 25, 2008, against CA Vélez Sársfield . From then on he remained a regular goalkeeper at his new club. In his second year in Santa Fe, the team managed to qualify for the 2010 Copa Libertadores . There they were eliminated from the Paraguayan representative CD Universidad Católica with 3: 2 and 2: 3 on penalties.

Pozo played for Colón until 2013 and was number one in goal every year. In mid-2013 he left the club and returned to Huracán, who played in the Primera B Nacional . He came on seven missions. At the beginning of 2014 he moved to Rangers de Talca in Chile. His club had to relegate at the end of the 2013-14 season. Pozo went back to Argentina, where he signed on with second division Sportivo Belgrano . There he ended his career at the end of 2014.

National team

The good performances since his move to the first division helped Pozo to a late career in the Argentine national team . On May 20, 2009, the goalkeeper made his debut in his home country's 3-1 win over Panama . A year later he was appointed to the squad for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa by national coach Diego Maradona . Before the World Cup, Pozo was fighting for the regular place in goal with the also inexperienced but younger Sergio Romero and Mariano Andújar . However, he did not come to any use at the World Cup, as Romero played all five games.
