from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The seniority cross of the financial guard ( it. Anzianità di servizio nella Guardia di Finanza ) was initially an award of the Kingdom of Italy , which on September 26, 1905 by decree of Victor Emanuel III. was donated. The cross is still awarded today in an almost unchanged form. Instead of the crown, however, it has a gold star.

Graduation (1905)

  • Officers for 40 years of service: golden cross with crown
  • Officers for 25 years of service: Golden Cross
  • NCOs for 25 years of service: Silver cross with crown
  • NCOs for 16 years of service: Silver Cross

The regulations regarding the addition of the crown followed the same guidelines as those of the seniority cross .

Appearance and wearing style

The gilded or silver-plated unadorned cross is notched wide and shows on its front on the medallion the colored enamel coat of arms of the House of Savoy (red and white) with an Italian eagle on a red background behind it. The reverse is of the same quality, but shows the four-line inscription AL / MERITO DI / SERVIZIO (For merits in service) on the medallion on a red background .

The cross was worn as a ribbon medal on the upper left chest of the borrower on a green ribbon with a yellow border and a central stripe.
