This summer feeling ( French Ce sentiment de l'été ) is a German-French drama by Mikhaël Hers with Anders Danielsen Lie and Judith Chemla from 2015. After the world premiere at a film festival, it was released in France on February 17, 2016, in Germany on November 3rd of the same year.

In the middle of summer, 30-year-old Sasha suddenly dies. Although relatively unknown to each other beforehand, her fiancé Lawrence and her sister Zoé get closer to each other. They share as best they can the pain and stress of absence, with the action taking place between Berlin , Paris and New York . Three summers in three cities then show her return to light, which is always carried by the memory of the loved one.
criticism
In France the work was received mostly positively, wrote the Obs , nothing exciting happened, but “everything fits in this beautiful film about loss, in which the living wander under the sun like drifted shadows under the sun, where happiness is indecisive and the beauty of deserted cities is comfort ”. Les Inrocks noted that it was very smooth cinema, but gentle "like the waves that ultimately grind the rock". Hers' nonviolent portrayal of our infinite sadness was also highlighted, evoking a flow of emotions whose origin one does not even know if it is not the past.
