Dieter-Heinz Hellmann (born September 1942 in Berlin ) is a German industrial manager and university professor.

Life

Hellmann studied mechanical engineering with a focus on turbo machinery at the Technical University of Berlin from 1963 to 1970 . After graduating, he worked as a research assistant at the Hermann Föttinger Institute for Fluid Mechanics until 1975 . After receiving his doctorate in engineering, Hellmann moved to KSB Aktiengesellschaft in Frankenthal (Palatinate) in 1976 . There and in Homburg , he took on various management positions in the design and development of centrifugal pumps .

In 1991 Hellmann was appointed to the Technical University of Kaiserslautern , where he took over the chair for fluid mechanics and fluid machines (SAM) . He was able to expand this significantly by 2006. As a mechatronics technician , he was also particularly active in the area of ​​early fault detection. He was also considered a specialist in renewable energies .

Hellmann was a speaker and moderator at advanced training events of the Technical Academies Esslingen and Wuppertal , the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and various companies.

In 2007, the university professor returned to KSB in Frankenthal, where he was a member of the Executive Board and was responsible for product management and product development until 2013. He then took over the position of Chairman of the Board of Management of the KSB Foundation in Frankenthal. This foundation had already funded his dissertation. Hellmann was appointed to the Supervisory Board of KSB AG from May to September 2015 .

He is also the chairman of the Ecoliance RLP e. V. , a network for environmental technology in Rhineland-Palatinate . Since 2007 he has been a volunteer on the advisory board of the VDI North Baden-Palatinate District Association .
