Dieter Bach (physician)

Rolf Dieter Bach (born October 23, 1959 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German physician and nephrologist .

Life

Rolf Dieter Bach studied human medicine from 1978 to 1984 at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . In 1985 he received his doctorate in medicine and examined the clinical course of 100 kidney transplants at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf , paying particular attention to the postoperative transplant function.

In 1994 he completed his habilitation with a paper on new aspects of inflammatory glomerular diseases in the native kidney and kidney transplant. From 1985 to 1997 Rolf Dieter Bach worked under the guidance of his doctoral supervisor Bernd Grabensee at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and devoted himself to continuous clinical and scientific research in the field of nephrology .

In 1991, Bach obtained the area designation "Internal Medicine" from the North Rhine Medical Association . In 1992 the division designation "Nephrology" of the North Rhine Medical Association followed. In addition to this sub-area designation, Bach also qualified in 2002 with the focus on "Diabetology (DDG)", which was followed in 2006 by the additional further training in "Diabetology" of the North Rhine Medical Association. In addition, in 2005 Bach was awarded the title “Hypertensiology” by the German Hypertension League.

From 1997 to 1999, Bach was the head physician in the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at the Krefeld Clinic and the KfH Kidney Center in Krefeld. In 1999 he was elected director of the Medical Clinic III of the Krefeld Municipal Clinic . He remained this until September 30, 2013. From 2005 to 2007 he was medical director of the clinic. Today the Krefeld Clinic is part of the Helios Clinics group .

In 2000 he was appointed adjunct professor for the field of internal medicine at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

Since October 1, 2013, Bach has been Chairman of the Board and Medical Director of the KfH Board of Trustees for Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation . Under his leadership, KfH developed into a total nephrological provider with a focus on dialysis care
