Dieter Brosz (born November 12, 1968 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( Greens ) until the end of 2017 . He was a member of the National Council from 1999 to 2017 . Brosz was sports and media spokesman for the Greens parliamentary club . For a few months, Brosz was head of the cabinet of Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler .

Education and professional career

Dieter Brosz attended elementary school in Trumau between 1975 and 1979 and then switched to high school in Baden near Vienna . In 1983, Brosz moved to the commercial academy in Baden, which he graduated from in 1988 with the Matura . Brosz was only able to complete his political science studies at the University of Vienna in 1988 and until 1993 in the first section. Parallel to his studies, Brosz worked as a tenancy law advisor between 1991 and 1992 . In 1993 he became a managing board member of the Green Education Workshop in Lower Austria, for which he worked until 1999.

From 2009 he studied "Political Communication" at the Danube University Krems and completed his master's degree in 2011. As a result, he completed various negotiation courses, including the one in 2016 as a "Certified Global Negotiator" at the University of St. Gallen.

Since 2011 he has been a lecturer at the Danube University Krems.

After leaving politics, Brosz went freelance as a management consultant in February 2018 and was most recently working in this role for his political colleague Georg Willi . After the formation of the Federal Government Kurz II in January 2020, he became head of Werner Kogler's cabinet . On May 27, 2020, it was announced that Brosz is leaving the Kogler cabinet.

Brosz is married and has two children (* 1998 and 1999).

Political career

Between 1989 and 1990 Brosz was initially the state finance officer of the Green Lower Austria and between 1993 and 1999 he was employed full-time as a managing board member of the Green Education Workshop in Lower Austria. From 1998 to 2017, Brosz was chairman of the state committee of the Greens in Lower Austria and from 1999 to 2007 a member of the federal board of the Green Educational Workshop. From October 1999 to October 2017, Brosz represented the Greens in the National Council. Brosz was initially an education, youth and sports spokesman and since 2010 media spokesman. From 2003 to 2017 he was a member of the club management and executive parliamentarian of the Green Parliamentary Club .

Brosz was considered a party strategist and an important confidante of the former federal spokesman Alexander Van der Bellen .
