Dieter Gross

Dieter Groß (born January 24, 1949 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 2009 to 2014 .

Life

Groß grew up in Kyritz and from 1963 attended the children's and youth sports school in Brandenburg an der Havel with high school diploma in 1968. This was followed by military service from 1968 to 1970, which he performed with the People's Police in Potsdam . He completed a traineeship until 1971 before studying law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1975 he graduated as a lawyer and worked until 1983 as a legal advisor for various companies in Berlin and then as a lawyer at the College of Lawyers in Dresden .

From 1990 he worked as a lawyer in Dresden and from 2001 in Kyritz.

Dieter Groß is married and has three children.

Groß became a member of the SED in 1971. From 1978 to 1980 he was chairman of the management union at VEB Importbetrieb Technik Berlin . In 1989 he left the SED. In 2002 he was mayoral candidate for the PDS in Kyritz. Since 2003 he has also been a member of the city council and a member of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district council . In 2008 he became a member of the party "Die Linke."

In the state elections in Brandenburg on September 27, 2009, Groß was directly elected to the state parliament in the state constituency of Prignitz II / Ostprignitz-Ruppin II . There he was a member of the committee for science, research and culture, the legal committee and the judges' selection committee, as well as the spokesman for cultural and sports policy of his group. After the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , he left the state parliament.
