Dieter Helm (born July 13, 1941 in Keilbusch ) is a German politician ( DBD , CDU ). He was a member of the last people 's chamber in the GDR and a member of the state parliament in Brandenburg .

Life and work

Dieter Helm is married, has two children and is of Protestant faith.

From 1955 to 1957 he completed vocational training as a farmer . From 1959 to 1962 he studied agriculture at the School for Agriculture and Horticulture Dresden- Pillnitz. He graduated as a state-certified farmer. From 1963 he studied agriculture at the Humboldt University in Berlin and graduated in 1968 with a degree in agriculture. From 1962 to 1990 he held a managerial position in an LPG . He has been an independent farmer since 1991.

Political activity

Political party

In March 1990, Helm was elected to the last people's chamber of the GDR for the DBD. In the fall of 1990 he joined the CDU. From 1993 to 1998 he was a member of the Bückwitz community council, since 1998 he has been a member of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district council and from October 1990 to 2009 he was a member of the state parliament of Brandenburg. From 1992 to 1994 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and until October 2004 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From October 2001 to August 2004 he was chairman of the committee of inquiry 3/2.

Helm was chairman of the Seniors' Union of the State of Brandenburg and is chairman of the board of trustees of the Brandenburg Main and State Stud Foundation Neustadt (Dosse)

MP

From September 1990 to September 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament and a member of the Committee for Rural Development, Environment and Consumer Protection and a deputy member of the Committee for European Affairs and Development Policy. He is a member of the state board of the Seniors Union Brandenburg.
