Dieter Hinrichs

Dieter Hinrichs (* 1932 in Göttingen ) is a German photographer and former teacher at the State Academy for Photo Design in Munich .

Life

Hinrichs grew up in Osterode am Harz . From 1956 to 1958 he completed his training at the Bavarian State School for Photography, which in 1990 became today's State Academy for Photo Design in Munich. This was followed by photo reports in South, South-West and East Africa, before he worked as an advertising and industrial photographer in Munich from 1961 to 1964 . During this time he made several trips abroad and country reports. He has been working as a freelancer in photojournalism , documentary and industrial photography since 1964 .

In addition to publications in magazines and books, there were several exhibitions and participation in exhibitions, including four world exhibitions of photography . From the 1970s, he sat down in landscape projects with the "Search for the order in chaos" and the abstraction of forms apart in the early 1980s he developed the visual tableaux "Alabama" and "Dachau", where he into innovative visual language reference current contemporary historical discourses.

From 1979 to 1981 he taught in the photography department of the private Salzburg College , then until 1997 in Munich documentary photography, photo journalism, free photographic design and landscape photography.
