Dieter Klöckner (born July 27, 1948 in Vallendar ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Education, work and family

From 1967 to 1970 Klöckner completed an apprenticeship as a banker and then worked at Sparkasse Neuwied until 1972 . From 1972 to 2013 he was an administrative employee at the Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement (BWB) Koblenz.

Klöckner is married and has two daughters.

Klöckner has been a member of the SPD since 1967. Since 1989 he has been chairman of the SPD local association in Vallendar. From 1990 to 2013 he was a member of the SPD district executive in Mayen-Koblenz , since 2000 as deputy chairman. From 1994 to 2000 Klöckner was active as the "Foreigners Commissioner" of the SPD Mayen-Koblenz.

Klöckner has been a member of the Vallendar City Council since 1977 - as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group since 1998. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the Mayen-Koblenz district council.

Klöckner has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since May 18, 2001 . He is vice-chairman of the Committee on European Affairs and One World and is also a member of the Committee on Integration, Family, Children and Youth. Previously, he was a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Health and chairman of the Enquête Commission on Integration and Migration. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union.

Klöckner is a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate-Rwanda State Board of Partnership and on the State Board of the European Union .

Social Commitment

Klöckner has been chairman of the Vallendar-Niederwerth workers' welfare organization since 1995 .
