Dieter Klein (art historian)

Dieter Klein (born April 23, 1942 in Kukan near Gablonz an der Neisse ) is an art historian based in Munich and Vienna .

Klein completed his school days in Vienna, then spent several years in the Danube shipping and as a tour guide and obtained a doctorate in art history in Munich with a thesis on Martin Dülfer . This was followed by teaching assignments at the University of Munich and the University of Salzburg , as well as numerous publications, exhibitions and lectures on architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries. From 1994 to 1998 Klein was head of the "Documentation Center for the Registration of Cultural Monuments in Historic German Settlement Areas". Klein is a committed advocate for monument protection . In addition, it is particularly important to him to contribute to the understanding and friendship between the former Sudeten Germans and Czechs.
