Dieter Lehmann (born September 19, 1928 in Dresden ; † March 11, 2013 in Dresden) was a major general of the Ministry for State Security (MfS) and head of the MfS district administration in Gera .

Life

The son of a carpenter completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter after attending primary school from 1943 to 1946. In 1946 he worked as a carpenter and became a member of the SED . In 1948 he joined the German People's Police (DVP). In 1949 he became an employee of the K 5 (political police) and then went to the administration for the protection of the economy of Saxony (from February 1950 state administration of Saxony of the MfS). In 1952 he was transferred to the management and training department (KuSch) of the district administration (BV) Dresden of the MfS; In 1953 he became a teacher at the school of the MfS Potsdam-Eiche. Later he was head of department VII (MdI / DVP) of the BV Dresden and from 1955 to 1958 head of the district office (KD) Görlitz of the MfS. In 1958 he became the operational deputy of the head of the BV Dresden. 1962-63 he attended the District Party School in Dresden the SED and from 1965 to 1970, he completed a correspondence course at the Law School (JHS) Potsdam-Eiche, graduating with a diploma lawyer. From 1970 to 1988 he was the successor to Colonel Josef Sobeck, head of the Gera district administration of the MfS and at the same time a member of the Gera SED district leadership. In 1976 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. at the JHS Potsdam-Eiche. In 1979 he was appointed major general. He also held the position of 1st chairman of the Gera district management of the Dynamo sports association . In 1988 his period of service ended, he initially continued to live in Gera and finally returned to his native Dresden.
