Dieter Obermeier

Dieter Obermeier (* 1936 ; † June 7, 2017 ) was a Hamburg politician for the STATT party .

Life and politics

Obermeier was a trained banker and savings bank economist . He worked as an authorized signatory and department head .

In 1993, Obermeier and the STATT party, led by the founder Markus Wegner, entered the Hamburg parliament . The party was only able to stay in parliament in the 15th electoral term from 1993 to 1997. During this time he sat for his group on the Committee on Budgets .

Like most politicians in the STATT party, he turned away from the party after the 1997 general election . In the election defeat, the party only won 3.8% of the vote.

Obermeier was a candidate for Ronald Schill'sRule of Law Offensive Party ” for the 2002 Bundestag election on the Hamburg state list. With 0.83%, the party clearly failed in the election because of the 5 percent hurdle.
