Dieter Wild

Dieter Wild (born January 10, 1931 in Altenhundem ; † April 13, 2019 in Uelzen ) was a German journalist .

Life

Wild studied law and history and received his doctorate in 1957 from the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . In July 1960 he joined the news magazine Der Spiegel as an editor . He started in the Germany department and went to Paris as a correspondent in 1963 . In Hamburg he headed the foreign editorial department from 1965 until 1990. From 1994 he was deputy editor-in-chief. In 1999 Martin Doerry succeeded him. He held almost 200  SPIEGEL talks . Wild published selected reports by Spiegel reporter Tiziano Terzani in 2010 .

Wild had a teaching position for journalism at the University of Leipzig .

Wild was married to the lawyer Gisela Wild .
