Dieter Wonka

Dieter Wonka (* 1954 in Kaufbeuren ) is a German journalist . He is chief correspondent of RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND), the central editorial office of the Madsack media group .

Life

Wonka grew up as the son of Sudeten Germans in Neugablonz , a district of Kaufbeuren. His father was a drug store driver and his mother was a housewife. He is the second born of three children.

He studied sociology and political science at the University of Regensburg and belonged to the Marxist student union Spartakus . He began his journalistic career in the early 1980s at Wiesbadener Kurier . In 1982 he moved to the then capital Bonn and wrote for the Neue Presse . He later moved to the weekly Stern magazine until 1991 . Since 1992 he has been writing for the Leipziger Volkszeitung of the Madsack media group. As a correspondent from Berlin he analyzes the political events and leads the weekly column three questions to… . According to Georg Löwisch , the journalist Wonka is “the toughest questioner in Berlin” (2014).

Wonka has been the chief correspondent in the RND capital office since October 2016 .

Wonka appears as a commentator on political radio and TV programs.

He is the father of two children and is married to Jutta Bielig-Wonka, the head of the RTL capital studio.
