Dietmar Gugler

Dietmar Gugler (born December 22, 1961 in Neckartailfingen ) is a former German Nations Cup rider and since 2001 coach of the young show jumping riders and since May 2010 coach of the United Arab Emirates .

Career

In 1980 he began training as a horse manager with Fritz Ligges , where he achieved international success. He won his first S-class at the age of 21. In 1983 he went to the Bundeswehr sports school in Warendorf for a year as a sports soldier . He then worked at Ligges until 1988. In 1988 he moved to Gestüt Prinzenberg and took over the sporting part of the Dieter Hofmann Foundation in Pfungstadt , Hesse , which promotes young show jumping talent. There he trained 40 young riders up to the advanced level of. In May 1995, Gugler moved to Paul Schockemöhle's stable , where he was responsible for the international purchase and sale of show jumping horses and in the same year passed the horse management examination.

In 2001 he was appointed national coach for juniors and young riders. His protégés, including Philip Rüping and Angelina Herröder , have so far won 28 medals under his guidance, including nine gold medals at European championships. In 2002 he took over the Prinzenberg stud and runs a training center there where young show jumpers from all over the world train. His most famous students include Georgina Bloomberg and the Swede Angelica Augustsson . Also Sevil Sabancı has housed their horses at Gugler.

In 2010 he was appointed coach of the United Arab Emirates , for which he was in action at the World Championships in Kentucky .

Gugler rode in 13 Nations Cups for Germany.

He is married for the second time and has three children.
