Dietmar Schütze (born October 19, 1962 ) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga . In the top division of the GDR football association , he played for the Berlin FC Dynamo and the Halleschen FC Chemie . With the BFC Dynamo, Schütze became a GDR champion.

Athletic career

Schütze started his career as a football player at Motor / Vorwärts Oschersleben . He then played at Einheit Wernigerode until 1982 , most recently in the second-rate GDR league . After completing school, he completed an apprenticeship as an electrician.

For the 1982/83 season Schütze was part of the squad of the GDR champions Berliner FC Dynamo (BFC), where he completed a three-year police service. On August 25, 1982 he received his first test in the league when he was substituted on in the game of the 2nd game day Hansa Rostock - BFC (0: 4) in the 70th minute. After two further short appearances on the 3rd and 4th matchday, coach Bogs refrained from further nominations for the almost 20-year-old, who later played with the BFC II team in the third-class Berlin district league . For 1983/84 Schütze, who is listed in the statistics as a member of the championship team 1982/83 with his three league appearances, was officially registered for the 2nd BFC team. With her he fought for the district championship and promotion to the GDR league. In the 1984/85 season, the 1.75 m tall shooter was used exclusively in the 2nd team, as in the previous season.

In May 1985, Schütze was released from the police force and resigned from BFC. He joined the GDR league promoted Stahl Walzwerk Hettstedt , but rose with the team after a year in the Halle district league. There he played the 1986/87 season for Hettstedt, but then moved back to the GDR league, to the promoted Stahl Thale . However, he only played there for four game days, after which he was taken over by the upper division Hallescher FC Chemie (HFC), who discovered the shooter on the occasion of a friendly against Thale.

Schütze was immediately used in the league team as a substitute for the injured Lutz Schülbe and Martin Trocha as a striker from the 5th matchday on and played all nine point games until the winter break. After Schülbe and Trocha were available again in the second half of the season, Schütze only made eight short-term appearances for the rest of the season. Although he only played 17 games out of 26 games, he and Uwe Machold were the best HFC shooters with six goals. Also in the 1988/89 season Schütze did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player and already played his last league game for the Halle on the 14th matchday. It was his 27th top division game for HFC, seven times he had been successful as a goalscorer.

Together with two other HFC substitute players, Schütze moved back to Stahl Thale in the GDR league for the 1989/90 season. There he developed into a goalscorer, scoring 20 of his team's 48 goals as the top scorer. Schütze later joined TSG Bad Harzburg, where he also worked as an assistant coach.
