Dietrich Bonhoeffer community center

The Protestant community center Dietrich Bonhoeffer - not to be confused with the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church - was built in 1971 by Peter Lehrercke , named after Dietrich Bonhoeffer , and is located at Geraer Strasse 92 in the Berlin district of Lankwitz, in what is now the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district .

history

The Dietrich Bonhoeffer congregation was separated from the Trinity congregation on January 1, 1963 . Since December 1, 2012, it has formed a parish with the Evangelical Trinity Church Congregation, the Evangelical Paul Schneider Church Congregation and the Evangelical Village Church Congregation. On October 17, 1971 the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Community Center was inaugurated. In 1975 the altar wall received a new window. In 1985 a comprehensive renovation took place . Two extensions were built. In 2014 the community center was energetically renovated . The seat of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Foundation is the parish of the same name.

description

The one to two-storey building complex in the style of post-war modernism was attached to an earlier construction phase. The diverse, cubic community center includes a centrally located, two-storey multi-purpose room that can be used for church services and other events. The interior can be expanded to the left and right if necessary.

Another community hall is available to community circles and other groups. In the basement there are youth centers . Community offices and a chapel complete the construction.

Bells

The square, blunt bell tower is included in the building complex. A bronze bell made of three bells , which was cast by Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock in 1970 , hangs in his belfry .
