Dietrich Busse (born September 30, 1952 in Detmold ) is a German specialist in German.

Life

He studied philosophy , (general) linguistics, German, sociology and political science at the universities of Bonn (one semester), Bielefeld (three semesters), Heidelberg (up to the exam). His academic teachers are Ernst Tugendhat , Dieter Henrich , Hans-Friedrich Fulda (Philosophy), Niklas Luhmann (Sociology), Hugo Moser , Peter von Polenz , Rainer Wimmer , Herbert Ernst Wiegand , Klaus Heger (Linguistics), Klaus von Beyme (Political Science ). Degrees in philosophy (first major), German (second major) and Political Science (third major) at the University of Heidelberg After graduation in 1984 as a doctor of philosophy in specialist German Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg, he was from 1985 to 1990 research assistant for German linguistics at the Institute for Language and Literature at the TH Darmstadt . After his habilitation in 1990 and the award of the Venia legendi and the private lectureship in German linguistics from Faculty 2 of the TH Darmstadt , he was appointed professor for German linguistics at the Institute for German Language and Literature at the University of Cologne in 1993 . In 2001 he was appointed to the chair for German linguistics at the German Department of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . In 2011 he was a founding member of the SFB 991 The Structure of Representations in Language, Cognition and Science. From 2006 to 2016 he was a member of the Academic Senate of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. In April 2018, he took legal retirement.
