Dietrich Jäger

Dietrich Jäger (born March 22, 1928 in Kiel ; † August 27, 2010 ) was a German Anglicist.

Life

He studied English, German , comparative and medieval studies in Kiel , Copenhagen and Dublin . He was a lecturer and lecturer in Dublin. After graduating as Dr. phil. at the University of Kiel in 1960 ( the use of formulaic two-part expressions in the pre-, early and high court epic ) and habilitation there in 1966 ( narrative forms of Beowulf. Comparative studies on the generic characteristics of the old English heroic epic and the Germanic heroic song ) he was there from 1971 until 1993 professor of English literature.
