Dietrich Leder (* 1954 in Essen ) is a German media scientist , journalist and filmmaker. Since May 1994 he has also been a professor in the field of television / film at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts .

Live and act

Dietrich Leder grew up in Essen. After graduating from high school , he studied German literature , theater studies and education in Cologne .
After completing his studies in 1980, he worked in the field of media criticism and analysis for various daily and weekly newspapers, specialist services and magazines. In these areas he also worked for radio and television.

From 1977 to 1989 Dietrich Leder was the founder and co-editor of the Cologne media magazine Zelluloid and from 1982 to 1993 he was a member of the program commission of the Duisburg Film Week .
He also produced his own documentaries , including 1984 together with Fosco Dubini duds and 1993 hunt for sensations , or television programs such as the 1997 program 20 years of Duisburger Filmwoche .

Since October 1997 he has had discussions with directors for the 3sat series Documentary Time about six times a year .

He also gave seminars for various colleges and universities as well as for television and radio editors of WDR , ARD , ZDF , as well as RTL and Sat.1 .
