Dietrich von Dohna

Dietrich (Theodor) von Dohna (* December 1650 in Küstrin ; † July 17, 1686 near Ofen ) was a Kurbrandenburg colonel and chief of a dragoon regiment , the basis of the cuirassier regiment No. 4.

He was the son of Burgrave Christian Albrecht von Dohna and his wife Sophie Theodore Countess of Holland-Brederode-Vianen (1620–1678).

In 1684 he took over the Leibdragoner Regiment , which was established in 1672 by Colonel Joachim Ernst von Grumbkow . It was also called the kitchen dragon , as it was used to accompany the court. The colonel moved with the regiment to Hungary as part of the Brandenburg support for the emperor's fight against the Turks. The colonel died in the siege of Ofen of a serious injury sustained on July 3rd. The future Field Marshal Dubislav Gneomar von Natzmer was also seriously injured in the storm .

Shortly before - on July 3 - his older brother Karl Emil (1658–1686) had died as colonel from Kurbrandenburg and commander of the Barefoot Infantry Regiment at Ofen.
