Dimitar Bodurov

Dimitar Bodurov (born September 17, 1979 ) is a Bulgarian jazz musician ( piano , composition) who has lived and worked in the Netherlands since 2000.

Bodurov first studied at the Conservatory in Sofia before continuing his studies between 2000 and 2004 at the Rotterdam Conservatory . He graduated from Codarts Academy Rotterdam with a bachelor's degree in jazz piano and composition, as well as a master's degree in jazz piano.

Bodurov plays modern jazz , which is interspersed with influences from Bulgarian folk music and classical music. He led a trio with Mihail Ivanov (double bass) and Jens Düppe (drums). In 2012 he composed Lilith , which was premiered by Claron McFadden at the Holland Festival ; he has also received compositions for the famous female choir Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares . He also accompanies the singer Margriet Sjoerdsma . He also worked with Randy Brecker , Didier Lockwood , Svetlin Rouseev and The Bulchemists .
