Dinesh Kumari Chenchanna (* 22. July 1970 in Banganapalli , India ) is a German - Indian television - journalist .

Life

In 1971 Dinesh Chenchanna moved with her family to Germany and spent her childhood in West Berlin and from 1977 her school days in Rüsselsheim . From 1989 she studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt , where she graduated in 1997 in the subjects of water supply, wastewater disposal, waste management and environmental and spatial planning, ecology and geotechnical engineering.

Hessian radio

During her studies, she worked as an employee in the television entertainment department of the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main from 1994 and was responsible for the online presence from 1997. After that, in 1999 she moved to the “eTV hessen” editorial team as a senior editor, where she was responsible for the production of various cross-media broadcast projects.

From 2004 Dinesh Chenchanna was a member of the project group "Digitalization of TV". From 2005 to 2009 she was responsible for the development and production of new formats in Hessischer Rundfunk. Among other things, she developed and produced the advice program " Dings vom Dach ".

ZDF

In 2009 Dinesh Chenchanna moved to ZDF's main editorial office for new media, where she worked as an editor with a focus on "cross-media projects", among other things for the development of a knowledge format for the digital channel ZDFinfo, the concept development of an online special for the series " TerraX - Universum der Ozeane" ( awarded the Serious Games Award in bronze) and was responsible for the further development of the concept and the editing of a format for zdf log in (nominated for the Prix ​​Europa 2010 in the category "Emerging Media").

From 2011 she headed the series Der Marker in ZDFkultur.

In addition to her function as 3sat coordinator from 2013 to 2017, Dinesh Chenchanna also took over the management of the ZDF digital channel ZDFkultur until it was closed in September 2016.

On January 1, 2018, Chenchanna took over the management of the ZDF staff unit “New Digital Cultural Partnerships” in the ZDF main editorial office for culture with the task of developing joint projects between external partners from the cultural sector and the ZDF using digital technology. Among other things, Dinesh Chenchanna developed the "Digital Art Hall" project for the ZDF media library.

Since 2020 Dinesh Chenchanna has been entrusted with the development and management of the newly established ZDF staff unit "Digital Partnerships", whose task it is to develop joint projects with external partners from the science and education sector for ZDF.

Private

From 1988 to 1996 Dinesh Chenchanna was the lead singer of a semi-professional big band. In addition, she was a member of an independent theater group from 1991 to 1995, for which she a. a. realized a revue (script and direction) and acted as dramaturge.

Dinesh Chenchanna is married to the computer scientist Marc Kalke and has two children.
