Dirk Möller

Dirk Möller (born September 28, 1961 in Weimar ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 2012 to 2014 he was a member of the Thuringian state parliament .

Life and work

From 1968 to 1976 Möller attended the Polytechnic High School in Niederzimmer , then until 1980 the Extended High School in Bad Berka .

For health reasons, Möller was retired and was therefore able to start studying immediately after graduating from high school. From 1980 to 1984 he studied at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and graduated as a graduate teacher for civics and history.

After completing his studies, he started working as a teacher at the " Werner Lamberz " POS in Bad Berka.

From 1988 Möller worked as a political employee of the SED district leadership in Weimar. From 1990 to 1991 he was head of the office of the district association of the PDS Weimar, then until 2012 regional employee of the regional association of the PDS Thuringia, later Die Linke Thuringia.

Möller is married, has two children and lives in Weimar.

Political party

From 1989 Möller was deputy chairman of the Weimar district association of the SED , later of the PDS .

From 1993 to 2009 Möller was district chairman of the PDS Apolda / Weimar, later Die Linke Apolda / Weimar.

MP

From July 1, 2012 Möller belonged to the Thuringian state parliament . He replaced Birgit Keller , who resigned her mandate after the local elections in Thuringia in 2012 . Möller was his parliamentary group's spokesman for school policy and adult education.

In the state elections in 2014, he was defeated as a direct candidate in the Weimar II constituency to the incumbent State Minister of the Interior, Jörg Geibert . On the state list of his party he ran for 38th place.
