Dirk Zetzsche
Dirk Andreas Zetzsche (born March 17, 1975 in Düsseldorf ) is a German lawyer , professor, legal scholar , attorney , and author .

Dirk Zetzsche completed his Abitur in 1994 at the Humboldt Gymnasium in Düsseldorf and then studied law at the Heinrich Heine University . After the first state examination in law in 1999, he worked as a research assistant for Ulrich Noack (chair for civil law, commercial and business law) until 2003 , followed by a master's degree in law and economics (LL.M.) at the University of Toronto and in PhD in 2004. In 2006 the second state examination followed, in 2012 the habilitation . In 2011, Zetzsche was offered a chair for banking and financial market law at the Institute for Financial Services at the University of Liechtenstein . Since March 2016, Zetzsche has held the ADA chair for financial market law (inclusive finance) at the University of Luxembourg and at the same time non-executive director of the Institute for Corporate Law of the Law Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

Publications
Zetzsche is the author of more than one hundred and fifty publications in German and English. He has worked in an advisory capacity for various rule-setters and has been active in commissions, including projects for the European Commission , the European Parliament, the European Securities & Market Supervisory Authority (ESMA) and various national ministries and supervisory authorities. Zetzsche works a. a. together with various organizations on development aid issues, such as B. with the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, an association of the central banks of developing countries, for which he co-authored a report on FinTech for Financial Inclusion. The report was u. a. Adopted by the G24 governments at the Bali Summit as a strategy to promote digital financial inclusion.
In 2019, Zetzsche was listed for the first time by the Platform Social Science Research Network (SSRN) among the 10 most-read legal scholars worldwide, based on the number of hits in the last twelve months.
