Dirk from Bodisco

Dirk von Bodisco (* 1940 in Berlin ; † October 24, 2008 in Putbus on Rügen ) was a German stage and costume designer.

Dirk von Bodisco was born as the son of Gerda von Bodisco (1913–1981) and Boris von Bodisco and grew up in Lindau in autumn 1944 .

His mother, a graphic artist and costume designer, and his father, an architect, encouraged his talent for drawing from an early age. After graduating from high school in 1960, von Bodisco studied stage design and theater costume in Berlin. Engagements and guest performances on various stages followed, including in Frankfurt am Main , Hamburg , Zurich , Vienna and Paris .

In his work he has worked with many important actors and singers as well as with directors such as Peter Zadek , Hans Hollmann , Peter Palitzsch and Hans Neuenfels .

From 1979 to 2005 Dirk von Bodisco - as the predecessor of Reinhard von der Thannen - was also professor for theater costume at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg . After his retirement he rented a studio and apartment in Putbus on Rügen.

He found his final resting place in the family grave in the Rochusfriedhof in Nuremberg .
