The Discovery Islands are a group of islands between Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia . They are located in the Salish Sea , a bay in the Pacific Ocean in the state of Canada and are sometimes considered part of the Northern Gulf Islands . To her belong u. a. the following islands:

- East Redonda Island
- East Thurlow Island
- Hernando Island
- Maurelle Island
- Quadra Island

- Stuart Island

The archipelago is sparsely populated and lies in the Strathcona Regional District (except for Hernando Island, which is in the qathet Regional District ). They are also the southernmost islands that are still included in the Great Bear Rainforest .
traffic
The islands of Quadra Island and Cortes Island have ferry services. The other islands can be reached by seaplanes or private boats.
