The qathet Regional District (formerly Powell River Regional District ) is a district in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It is 5,075.33 km² and has a population of 20,070 (2016). In the 2011 census, only 19,906 residents were identified. Powell River is the capital and only parish of the coastal district .
The name means 'work together' or 'work together' in the Comox language .
