Dispenser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dispenser or dosing dispenser is a name for various manual, semi-automatic or automatic dispensing devices (e.g. sales stands, vending machines , medication dispensing containers , dosing pumps , etc.).

Agriculture

Pheromone dispenser in viticulture

In agriculture , dispensers are used, among other things, as a pheromone module for early detection of infestation and the reduction of pest populations. It is a biological confusion method . Dispensers are particularly important in viticulture and fruit growing. Many German winemakers use this method. They are primarily used to combat the grape budmoth , a butterfly whose caterpillars pierce the precocious berries and cause them to rot. Dispensers are attached directly to the vines and secrete pheromones with the sexual scent of the female grape moth over a period of months. This leads to the confusion of the males who simply cannot find their females anymore. Fertilization does not occur and the moth cannot lay eggs.

Chemical laboratory technology

Dispensers in chemical laboratory technology are devices with which preset amounts of liquid can be dispensed from bottles. The dispensers are attached to the bottles using screw caps or stoppers. Similar dispensers are also known as soap dispensers for liquid soaps .

aviation

In aviation , those vehicles are called dispensers that pump aircraft fuel into the machines from an underground hydrant system and that do not have their own fuel tank.

In addition, in military aviation, ejection systems for infrared decoys , radar decoys and various drop weapons (e.g. MW-1 ) that are located in or on aircraft are referred to as dispensers.

Drug scene

In the drug scene, cartridges filled with laughing gas and actually used to froth cream are called dispensers. The nitrous oxide dispenser is clamped into a so-called capsule that opens the cartridges in order to fill the contents into a balloon for inhalation.

medicine

Dispenser with daily doses

In medicine, this is what medicine dispensers are called. They are very convenient for patients who need to take multiple drugs in tablet form at different times of the day. A dispenser is a box with several small compartments in which the medication is sorted. The individual compartments are labeled (mostly with “morning”, “noon”, “evening”, “night”) so that the patient takes the right tablet at the right time and also has control over whether he has taken all his medication . There are dispensers for a day or a whole week.

Vending machines

The wine dispenser is one of the vending machines called dispensers .

electronics

SMD components on a circuit board. The white adhesive dots can be clearly seen

In assembly production, dosing devices and valves that dispense liquids or pastes are referred to as dispensers. If the workpiece is not touched when the liquid is applied, one speaks of either jet dispensers or jetting dispensers.

For example, in SMD technology , dispensers are used to apply adhesive to circuit boards . After the SMD components have been placed on these fixing points, the adhesive is dried in the reflow oven . Then you can turn the board and assemble wired components on the top. Then the underside of the assembly (the side on which the SMD components are glued) is soldered on a surge bath.
