The Acobamba district is one of nine in the Tarma Province in the Junín region of central Peru . In the 2017 census, 9500 inhabitants lived on an area of ​​97.84 km². In 1993 the population was 12,713, in 2007 13,402. On January 2, 1857, Acobamba officially became a district of the Tarma Province. The administrative seat is Acobamba .
