Secretariats Division in Sri Lanka

The districts of Sri Lanka are divided into divisional secretary's divisions (DS Divisions) . These emerged from the feudal districts, which carried the names korale and rata . In the colonial times, this became the DRO Divisions, which were named Divisional Revenue Officer by the responsible administrative officials . The DROs later became the Assistant Government Agents and the divisions were named AGA Divisions. Today these administrative units are called DS Divisions .
