Dmitri Witaljewitsch Bulgakow ( Russian: Дмитрий Витальевич Булгаков ; born October 20, 1954 in Verkhneye Gurovo , Sovetsky Rajon , Kursk Oblast , Soviet Union ) is a Russian Army General and since 2008 Deputy Minister of Defense .

Life

Bulgakov appeared in 1972 in the Soviet Army and graduated in 1976, the Military Academy of rear services in Volsk . He then served in a grocery store. After graduating from the Military Rear Service and Transportation Academy, he held various administrative positions as deputy regimental commander, deputy brigade commander, deputy division commander and deputy head of rear service of the Transbaikal military district . In 1996 he successfully graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and was then appointed Chief of Staff for Rear Services and 1st Deputy Chief for Rear Services of the Moscow Military District. From 1997 he served as chief of staff for rear services and 1st deputy chief for rear services of the Russian armed forces . In 2008, he was appointed Chief of Reverse Services of the Russian Armed Forces and Deputy Minister of Defense. Since July 27, 2010, he has acted exclusively as Deputy Minister of Defense. In this post he was in charge of supplying the Russian troops during the military operation in Syria and was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation by presidential decree in May 2016 .

From 2015 he organized the construction of railway lines to bypass Ukraine. In September 2015, he was placed on Ukraine's sanctions list.

Bulgakov was appointed Army General on February 23, 2011. The professor and candidate of economics is the author of academic papers for the organization of rear service activities and for the history of rear service.
