Dmitri Wjatscheslavowitsch Bykow ( Russian Дмитрий Вячеславович Быков ; born May 5, 1977 in Ischewsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HK CSKA Sofia .
Career
Dmitri Bykov began his career as an ice hockey player at ZSK WWS Samara , for which he was active in the Russian Super League from 1995 to 1998 . He then moved to HK Lada Tolyatti , for whom he played from 1997 to 1999. In addition, the defender completed ten games for Torpedo Yaroslavl in the 1997/98 season . In the summer of 1999 he was signed by Ak Bars Kazan , with whom he was runner-up in 2000 and 2002, respectively. During this period he was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round as a total of 258th player by the Detroit Red Wings . For the reigning Stanley Cup winner, the Russian played a total of 75 games in the 2002/03 season , in which he scored twelve points scorer. After a year in North America, Bykov returned to Ak Bars Kazan, for which he was on the ice for another two years in the Super League.
In the summer of 2005 Bykov was signed by the reigning Russian champions HK Dynamo Moscow , with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup at European level in 2006 . He and his team prevailed in the final against Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM-liiga . After the 2005/06 season, the left shooter signed with Dynamo's league rivals Atlant Mytishchi .
From May 2011 Bykow was under contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk . After a year he left Metallurg again and was signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod , where he also played for a year. He was then committed by Amur Khabarovsk .
International
For Russia , Bykov took part in the 1999 , 2002 , 2004 and 2006 world championships.
