The Dohrener Mühlenbach , also called Töste within Tostedt , is a 6.7 km long brook in the communities of Tostedt , Dohren and Kakenstorf in the district of Harburg in Lower Saxony , which flows into the Este from the left and southwest .
course
The Dohrener Mühlenbach rises in a meadow directly behind the Evangelical Lutheran Church at two smaller ponds, in the middle of Tostedt towards Dohren . It flows through the school grounds of the Tostedt primary school, from the outskirts of Tostedt through meadows like a ditch north to Dohren. The Dohrener Mühlenbach crosses Dohren from southwest to northeast, crossing under the L 141. Then it still flows close to the soft patch of the place at the Dohrener fish ponds. On the last third of its course, in a natural river bed, it flows through an uninhabited forest and meadow landscape. It crosses the NEL pipeline and the Seggernweg forest path and flows 600 m later in the middle of the Bötersheimer Heide forest from the left and south-west into the Este.
Status
The Dohrener Mühlenbach is critically polluted in the upper reaches (quality class II-III) and in the lower reaches, in the area of the Bötersheimer Heide, moderately polluted (quality class II).
Traffic rules
Due to the intensive use of the Estonians by recreational sports and canoe rental companies, the Harburg district issued an ordinance in 2002 for the Estonians, their backwaters and the associated bank areas, which is intended to protect the habitat of plants and animals. Since then, driving and entering the Dohrener Mühlenbach has been prohibited all year round.
