Dolgow is a village in Wendland in Lower Saxony and is a district of the city of Wustrow (Wendland) .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1476 under the name Dollighe . The place name comes from Polabian , the West Slavic language that was spoken in this area by the Wends until the 18th century . Dolgow was the residence of the last known native Polabian speaker, who died here in 1756.
Dolgow, whose name can be derived from the Slavic dolgi ("long"), is a small round village (typical of the Wendland) with four-column houses from the 19th century.
