Güstritz is a village in Wendland in Lower Saxony and is part of the city of Wustrow (Wendland) .
geography
The place is two kilometers northwest of Wustrow and is a Rundling .
history
The place name is derived from the Slavic term gäustar (= lizard ). from. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1343. For the year 1848 it is stated that Güstritz had 39 residential buildings in which 243 residents lived. At that time the place was parish after Satemin , where the school was located. The southern part of the village burned down in 1850 and was rebuilt as a row with 13 hall houses. On December 1, 1910, Güstritz in the Lüchow district had 230 inhabitants. On July 1, 1972 Güstritz was incorporated into Wustrow.
Personalities
- Erich Reischke (1927–2015) lived in Güstritz and had his studio on the outskirts towards Lensian . He is buried in the Satemin cemetery and designed his own grave.
