He made his debut in the top division of Austrian football in the following season on November 6, 1976 (16th matchday) in a 1-1 draw at home against SK Rapid Wien . His last appearance in his first season was on June 4, 1977 (33rd match day) in a goalless draw in the home game against SK VÖEST Linz . The 1980/81 season he was for 1. FC Saarbrücken in the then double-track 2. Bundesliga , in the group south. After 28 of 38 point games in which he scored seven goals, and the descent of his team as 17th of 20 participating teams in the Oberliga Südwest , he left the club. Before that, he played two games in the DFB Cup competition for the club. He played his first on October 4, 1980 in a 2-2 draw after extra time against Freiburg FC in the second round , his second on October 28, 1980 in the 3-1 defeat in the replay .

From 1981 to 1983 he played for SC Fortuna Köln in the now single-track 2nd Bundesliga . In his first season he played 23 games in which he scored three goals, and the only game in the DFB Cup competition was the second round game at KSV Hessen Kassel, which was lost 0-1 on October 10, 1981 . In his second season he scored a goal in just 14 games, but in the competition for the DFB Cup he made four games - apart from the quarter-finals - to make it to the final. In the final held in Cologne on June 11, 1983 in front of 61,000 spectators, which was decided in favor of 1.FC Köln by the goal scored by Pierre Littbarski in the 68th minute , he came on as a substitute for Hermann-Josef Werres in the 70th. Minute to use.

The 1983/84 season he played for the second division newcomer SC Charlottenburg 26 point games and scored four goals. At the end of the season, the newcomer had to return to the Oberliga Berlin ; 18th place was not enough to keep the class.
