Ellidshøj dolmen

The Dolmen of Ellidshøj ( also called Ellehøj or Ellenhøj in Danish ) is located between single-family houses in the municipality of Ellidshøj, which belongs to Aalborg, in Himmerland in northern Jutland , 15 km south of Aalborg in Denmark . The large stone grave dates from the Neolithic Age (around 3500–2800 BC) and is a megalithic site of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

It is a large north-east-south-west oriented polygonal pole with a 3.2 m long octagonal chamber made up of eight bearing stones and a capstone. The capstone protrudes above and in front of the round hill that has been stripped of its border. It is 3.45 m long, 2.2 m wide and 1.3 m high. All the stones in the corridor are missing. The entrance to the dolmen is 0.6 m wide. The facility was restored in 1941.
