The Kerbourg Dolmen 1

The Allée couverte from the French Neolithic (4500-4000 BC) is about eight meters long. The corridor climbs relatively steeply to the three-meter-wide chamber covered by a huge granite block . The covering earth or stone mound has been completely removed. The pottery found comes from around 2000 BC. The facility was subsequently used.

Nearby is a second completely destroyed dolmen (Kerbourg 2) and the Menhir de la Pierre Blanche (White Menhir). The dolmen is on the "Route Bleue et Megalithes", an archaeological path with eight dolmens and three menhirs , which starts at La Chapelle des Marais, northwest of St. Nazaire, and ends at Pornic .

Since 1951 both dolmens of Kerbourg have been protected as monument historique .
