Pooky Quesnel

Pooky Quesnel (* 1966 in Eccles , Greater Manchester as Joanna Quesnel ) is a British actress , screenwriter and singer .

life and career

Pooky Quesnel, whose real name is Joanna Quesnel, was born in 1966 in Eccles, Greater Manchester. She grew up here with six siblings. She initially studied English at Oxford University , then moved to the Drama School for a year. In the 1980s she appeared as a singer in Humphrey Carpenter's Vile Bodies Band at the Hotel Ritz . In 2005 Quesnel appeared again in a memorial concert on the occasion of Carpenter's death.

Pooky Quesnel began her acting career as a stage actress at the Old Fire Station in Oxford in the early 1990s . She has also had engagements in the Salisbury Playhouse, the Bristol Old Vic and most recently as Persephone in the piece of the same name with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra . Since her film debut in 1993 in The Falcon of Terror , Quesnel has appeared in numerous films and mainly television productions. She is known to German-speaking television audiences from the crime series Inspector Barnaby broadcast on ZDF .

Pooky Quesnel started working as a screenwriter in 2003. In her spare time she is a practicing kickboxer and an enthusiastic flamenco dancer .
