Domain Chamber (Hanover)

The Domain Chamber , also: Domain Chamber (State of Hanover) or Royal British Churfürstlich Braunschweigisch-Lüneburgische Chamber of Hanover , was a central authority in the Electorate of Hanover and from 1815 to 1866 in the Kingdom of Hanover , which was responsible for the fiscal administration of state-owned property in addition to the financial administration .

Tasks and personalities

Until the annexation by Prussia in 1866, the domain chamber administered the state's agricultural and forestry property through renting and leasing. It initially took over the former monasteries in the Electorate after the Reformation , but these were subsequently transferred to the monastery chamber of Hanover as special assets .

In 1838 Georg Ludwig Comperl was active in the domain chamber, which was subordinate to the "Ober-Hof-Marschall-Amt" under Georg Christian von Wangenheim . August Heinrich Rumann was chamber director from 1856 to 1862 .

The Royal Domain Chamber was directly subordinate to the country's finance minister . According to Section 84 of the 1840 Constitution, the President of the Royal Domain Chamber was an ex officio member of the First Chamber of the Hanoverian Assembly of Estates . The domicile chamber was located in the Leineschloss .

Temporary state and finance minister in the kingdom was Caspar Detlev von Schulte .
