Domenico della Rovere (* 1442 in Vinovo ; † April 22, 1501 in Turin ) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Cristoforo della Rovere's brother was a canon at the cathedral chapter in Lausanne and prior of Saint-André. He was also the Auditor of the Roman Rota and Canon of the Chapter of St. Peter's Basilica and Governor of the Castello Sant'Angelo in Rome.

By his relatives, Pope Sixtus IV. , Promoted, he was born on February 10, 1478 to Cardinal Priest of Santi Vitale, Valeria, Gervasio e Protasio , on 11 February 1478 as archbishop of Tarentaise and on 24 August 1478 as bishop of Montefiascone appointed . After he had changed to the titular church of San Clemente as a cardinal priest on August 13, 1479 , he became bishop of Geneva on July 19, 1482 , which he exchanged for the diocese of Turin on July 24 of that year . In his hometown of Vinovo he had Baccio Pontelli build a still-preserved palace.

He was buried next to his brother Cardinal Cristoforo della Rovere (1434-1478) in Rome. His remains were later transferred to Turin and buried in the crypt of Turin Cathedral.
